# Invite teammates and manage access

Invite someone to your workspace, change their account role, or remove their workspace access.

## At a glance

  1. 1. **Invite a teammate**: Choose Member or Admin and send the workspace invitation.
  2. 2. **Check access**: Search or filter the Team list by role and status.
  3. 3. **Change or remove access**: Update an account role, revoke a pending invitation, or remove a workspace member.

Open [Settings → Team](https://app.knitknot.ai/settings/team) to see who has access to the current workspace. Everyone with access can read the list. An account admin can invite people, change roles, revoke invitations, and remove members.

## Invite someone

  1. 1. Select **Invite** above the Team Members list.
  2. 2. Enter their email address.
  3. 3. Choose **Member** if they need to use the workspace, or **Admin** if they also need to manage team access, billing, and settings.
  4. 4. Select **Send Invite**. The address appears in the list while the invitation is pending.

For example, invite a colleague who will review benchmark answers as a Member. Give them Admin access only if they need the account controls in step 3.

The list can show **Pending** for an open invitation or for a member whose profile has no name yet. Use the invitation row, rather than that status alone, when checking whether you still need to revoke an invite.

## Find and update a member

Search by name or email in **Team Members**. You can also filter by **Role** or **Status** when the list has more than one value to filter on.

An account admin can open a member's actions and select **Make Admin** or **Change to Member**. This changes the person's role on the owning account. It is different from removing their access to the workspace. You cannot change your own role from this row.

To remove a person from the current workspace, choose **Remove** from their row and confirm. The confirmation says they will lose access immediately. If you only need to cancel a pending invitation, use the **X** on that invitation row instead.

If an invitation or role change fails, the page shows an error with the reported reason.

To change the workspace name or your own profile, use [Update workspace details and your profile](/docs/update-workspace-and-profile/).
