# Scrunch alternatives after the Sitecore acquisition

Six Scrunch alternatives compared by monitoring depth, competitive evidence, content workflow, AXP requirements, SEO integration, and current public packaging.

**Reviewed 15 August 2026 by Max Wiesner.** We checked current public product, pricing, acquisition, and help documentation. We did not independently test every paid feature. KnitKnot publishes this guide and is included below.

## What the acquisition actually changes

[Sitecore announced its acquisition of Scrunch](https://www.sitecore.com/company/newsroom/press-releases/2026/06/sitecore-acquires-scrunch-to-help-brands-influence-discovery--and-buying-decisions) on 3 June 2026. The price was not disclosed in that announcement. Scrunch separately says it [continues as a standalone platform](https://scrunch.com/blog/scrunch-is-now-a-sitecore-company) while also integrating with Sitecore.

Those are the facts currently available. They do **not** support claims that standalone access will disappear, pricing will inevitably rise, or customers are now locked into Sitecore. Evaluate an alternative because its current product fits the job better, and re-check the facts if either company announces a packaging or roadmap change.

Scrunch’s [current pricing](https://scrunch.com/pricing/) lists Core at $250/month with 125 unique prompts, five site audits per month, one brand workspace, five users, four AI surfaces, and a seven-day trial. Enterprise is custom and expands to nine surfaces, additional workspaces and audits, API/MCP access, security controls, advanced integrations, and Agent Experience Platform (AXP).

## The shortlist by buying problem

  • - **Profound** for a broad enterprise AEO operating system.
  • - **KnitKnot** for competitive material-claim evidence and later full-run measurement.
  • - **Peec AI** for focused daily visibility analytics and flexible enterprise model choice.
  • - **Gauge** for monitoring tied directly to content production.
  • - **Otterly.AI** for a lower-cost monitoring start.
  • - **Semrush** for AI visibility inside an existing SEO suite.

## Comparison table

The scope signals below summarize current public packaging as of the review date. They do not make monitoring-only tools equivalent to Scrunch’s site-audit or AXP layers.

| Option | Product shape | Current public scope signal | Best when | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Scrunch | Monitoring, site analysis, and agent experience | Core lists 125 unique prompts and four surfaces; Enterprise expands to nine | Crawlability, bot traffic, content optimization, or AXP is part of the job | | Profound | Broad AEO operating system | 50-prompt ChatGPT Starter; up to nine engines on Enterprise | Prompt-demand research and broad enterprise content operations matter | | KnitKnot | Frozen competitive benchmark | Four engines with material-claim evidence and later full-run comparison | A bounded competitive evaluation and evidence trail matter most | | Peec AI | Focused daily visibility analytics | 50, 150, or 350 prompts with three selected models; up to 11 on Enterprise | The team wants straightforward recurring monitoring across projects and markets | | Gauge | Monitoring plus content production | Growth lists 600 prompts run daily and 18 articles per month | The requirement is a bundled editorial production loop | | Otterly.AI | Accessible recurring monitoring | 15, 100, or 400 prompts; four core surfaces plus paid add-ons | Basic monitoring and citation/link visibility are enough | | Semrush AI Visibility | AI visibility inside an SEO suite | Base lists 25 custom prompts per domain | AI findings should connect to established SEO workflows |

## 1. Profound: best for broad enterprise AEO operations

Profound combines monitoring with licensed [Prompt Volumes](https://help.tryprofound.com/articles/4288109168-prompt-volumes), [Agents](https://www.tryprofound.com/features/agents), FactCheck, Projects, public dashboards, and MCP. Its [pricing](https://www.tryprofound.com/pricing) lists $99/month annually for Starter, $399/month annually for Growth, and custom Enterprise packaging with up to nine engines.

**Choose Profound over Scrunch when:** prompt-demand research, autonomous content workflows, and a broad AEO operating layer matter more than Scrunch’s site-audit and AXP approach.

**Keep Scrunch when:** AI bot analytics, audits, crawlability work, or AXP is a central requirement.

## 2. KnitKnot: best for competitive claim evidence

Scrunch covers a broad monitor-analyze-optimize loop: recurring prompts, citations, sentiment, competitors, site audits, bot traffic, recommendations, content, and Enterprise AXP. KnitKnot is narrower. It freezes a competitive benchmark, evaluates material claims in buyer-comparison answers, preserves reliable source evidence, groups repeated gaps into persistent issues, and compares a later full run after fixes ship.

**Choose KnitKnot over Scrunch when:** the critical question is “What exactly is AI saying about us versus a named competitor, is that claim supported, and did our intervention change the next benchmark?”

**Do not choose KnitKnot when:** you require always-on visibility monitoring, bot analytics, automated content optimization, or AXP. See the full [KnitKnot vs Scrunch comparison](/compare/knitknot-vs-scrunch/).

## 3. Peec AI: best for a focused monitoring program

Peec’s [brand plans](https://peec.ai/pricing) package 50, 150, or 350 prompts with three chosen models and daily tracking. Enterprise supports up to 11 models plus API, SSO, custom setup, and unlimited projects. Peec also documents [MCP](https://docs.peec.ai/mcp/introduction), source inspection, and agency workflows.

**Choose Peec over Scrunch when:** the team wants straightforward daily visibility analytics across brands, regions, and projects without buying an AXP layer.

## 4. Gauge: best for monitoring plus content production

Gauge’s [current public page](https://www.withgauge.com/) lists Growth at $599/month with 600 prompts run daily and 18 Content Engine articles per month. It combines visibility, source and competitor analysis, Ask Gauge, site actions, content workflows, and analytics integrations.

**Choose Gauge over Scrunch when:** the buying requirement is a bundled editorial production loop rather than Scrunch’s site-delivery and agent-experience workflow.

**Evidence caution:** the results on Gauge's site are vendor-published case studies, not independent evidence.

## 5. Otterly.AI: best for a smaller start

Otterly’s [pricing documentation](https://help.otterly.ai/pricing-of-otterlyai) lists 15, 100, or 400 prompts. Its core plan coverage includes Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot; AI Mode, Gemini, and Claude are paid add-ons. Its [trial is seven days](https://help.otterly.ai/free-trial).

**Choose Otterly over Scrunch when:** the team needs basic monitoring and citation/link visibility but not site audits, content workflows, or AXP.

## 6. Semrush AI Visibility: best inside an SEO suite

Semrush’s [AI Visibility Base package](https://www.semrush.com/pricing/ai/) is $99/month per domain when billed annually, with 25 custom prompts plus competitor research, prompt research, and site checks. Core SEO subscriptions and Enterprise AI capabilities are separate packaging decisions.

**Choose Semrush over Scrunch when:** connecting AI observations to an established keyword, backlink, and technical SEO workflow matters more than specialist AXP or bot analytics.

## The AXP decision

Scrunch describes AXP as an Enterprise layer that gives AI agents a structured, dynamic representation of brand content. Its [Knowledge Studio](https://scrunch.com/blog/knowledge-studio-give-ai-a-living-source-of-brand-truth/) adds an approved source of brand truth to that approach.

If AXP is why Scrunch made the shortlist, a monitoring-only alternative is not equivalent. Ask for evidence on:

  1. 1. Which crawlers or agents request the AXP output and how that access is logged.
  2. 2. How the system avoids inconsistent claims between human and agent experiences.
  3. 3. Which content remains indexable at stable public URLs.
  4. 4. How an AXP change is connected to a later visibility or accuracy result.
  5. 5. What data and delivery behavior remain if the service is removed.

If AXP is not required, compare the products on the narrower job you actually need: daily monitoring, competitive accuracy, content production, or SEO integration.

Where KnitKnot differs now

Most tools in this guide measure visibility or support broader marketing workflows. KnitKnot starts with the benchmark, manages evidence-backed agent content on eligible pages, and shows measured movement by journey and cycle. It does not promise traffic, rankings, or citations.
